I’ve added 003 recent articles - set visits - to the Press Archives. Extracts from each article is below. Happy reading!

Cinematical - April 3

Lionsgate recently invited Cinematical out to the set of The Eye, a new supernatural thriller starring Jessica Alba, Alessandro Nivola, and Parker Posey, and directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud. They were shooting in downtown Los Angeles and ironically, the weather was completely sunny and beautiful all weekend but they had to make it look like a nasty gray downpour was happening. Come Monday morning, it was completely gray and rainy for real throughout Los Angeles, just the way the filmmakers would have wanted it. The sheer amount of work involved just to make it look like it is raining when it’s not (they don’t just crank the knob on a hose) is pretty impressive, and it makes you realize how much work has to go into something so simple.

MTV - April 3

“I totally appreciate the stuff [I usually do],” the “Sin City” stunner said last week on the set of her latest movie. “But you know what? It’s a lot more interesting for me to play someone who is blind and a classical violin player than someone who is running around in the rain wearing a white T-shirt.”

Cinematic Happenings Under Development - April 2

From Sue Storm, Fantastic Four’s Invisible Woman to The Eye’s blind heroine, Jessica Alba has come full circle. So when Lionsgate invited CHUD to visit the set last Saturday to meet the ingénue, I went to see what’s what.

• • The Eye Set Visit
April 2nd, 2007 • Filed under Articles & Interviews and The Eye

I’ve added another Set Visit to the Press Archives. Extract below, happy reading.

The clouds above me are a dark gray, rare for Los Angeles, but certainly not unheard of. I stand on the roof of post modern hotel, at a bar with decor that can best described as “ridonkulous”. I stand, knowing that a few blocks away, down below in the streets of Los Angeles (Grand St. between 5th and 6th, to be precise), Sue Storm herself, Ms. Jessica Alba, is trying to emerge from a taxi cab in the rain. For a brief second, I wonder if Ms. Alba has enough pull in Hollywood to actually have caused this overcast day to accommodate the filming schedule. (Or maybe Budha/Zues/Odin/God, etc is just a REALLY big Dark Angel fan). All I know is, it must be really difficult for an actress to get out of a cab in the rain, holding an umbrella, a violin, and a cane all at once. Right, I probably should have mentioned that Alba is playing a blind woman. For this scene, anyway.

• • A slime time at Kids’ Choice Awards
April 1st, 2007 • Filed under Award Shows, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and News & Projects

A small tidbit about the upcoming Fantastic Four sequel:

Perennial Kids Choice presenter Jessica Alba broke news that there will be two weddings in this summer’s Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer. But don’t get the wrong idea from photos that turned up showing Alba in a wedding dress alongside co-star Chris Evans. “Chris is my brother in the movie!” reminded Alba. “He’s walking me down the aisle in my wedding to Mr. Fantastic (Ioan Gruffudd).” Read the rest of the article (opens in a new window.)
