Fox Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer on October 2, 2007. The world’s premiere superhero team, The Fantastic Four, meets their greatest challenge yet as the enigmatic, intergalactic herald, The Silver Surfer, comes to Earth to prepare it for destruction. As the Silver Surfer races around the globe wreaking havoc, Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben must unravel the mystery of the Silver Surfer and confront the surprising return of their mortal enemy, Dr. Doom, before all hope is lost.

Available in single-disc ($29.98 SRP) and double-disc ($34.98 SRP); the features are listed under the cut.

TVShowsOnDVD.com is reporting that the classic Nickelodeon series, The Secret World of Alex Mack — which Jessica guest-starred in during the first season, and was her TV debut (Camp Nowhere was Jessica’s movie debut) — is being released on October 2, 2007. Genius Products is releasing the series as a 2-DVD set containing 13 episodes; running time is 390 minutes; SRP is $22.95 but you can now pre-order the first season from Amazon for $16.09 — if anyone could make screencaptures of Jessica’s guest appearances until I get a copy (I don’t live in the US) it would be much appreciated and full credit, would of course, be given.

In the meanwhile, I’ll keep you guys posted on whether there’ll be a region 2 release in the near future!

Sorry for the lack of Teen Choice Awards coverage, I’ve been busy with family over the weekend as it’s bank holiday but you can be sure the goodies will be added first thing tomorrow!

Jessica is on another promotion round in the next couple of weeks and will be on the following talkshows:

• Late Show With David Letterman - Thursday, September 6
• The Tonight Show With Jay Leno - Tuesday, September 11

Justin Timberlake has joined the cast of Mike Myers starrer “The Love Guru” for Paramount Pictures.

Cast also includes Jessica Alba, Romany Malco and Verne Troyer. Director Marco Schnabel begins shooting next month in Toronto from a script by Myers and Graham Gordy.

Spyglass Entertainment is co-financing the laffer, in which Myers plays his first original character since Austin Powers. Producers are Myers and Michael De Luca.

“Guru” reunites Myers and Timberlake, who worked together on “Shrek the Third.”

Storyline revolves around an American (Myers) raised by gurus on an Ashram in India. Returning to the U.S. to make a fortune in the self-help biz, his unorthodox methods are put to the test when he provides marriage counseling to a hockey star. The wife of the hockey star retaliates by starting to date a rival player (Timberlake).
